After using the ButtKicker Gamer Plus for six months, I can honestly say it is an absolute must have addon for any sim rig. It is amazing to sit in a stationary sim rig and feel the vibration of the engine, jolt of curbs, gear shifts, wheel lock, and more. Simply put, the games come alive.
My initial reason for purchasing a haptic transducer was to add another level of immersion to my gaming experience, which it has delivered on beautifully! However, what I didn’t expect was for it to make me a better sim racer. I’ve been sim racing for about four years, but in the last few months I’ve seen a marked improvement in my lap times, skill and confidence on the track. Until recently, it never occurred to me the addition of a haptic transducer to my sim rig had anything to do with the improvement. However, it becomes very apparent, when I forget to turn on the Gamer Plus. The first time it happened, I was baffled as to why I was so out of the zone during a practice and racing session. I was braking late, taking too much speed into corners, and shifting gears late. Then the light bulb came on. In my haste to get on track, I forgot to turn on the ButtKicker amplifier. Yes, when I turned it on, my next session was back to normal…seriously!
