Bought 2 of these along with the BKA-1000P amplifier and wow the experience is amazing! I have a small home theater (11’ 5” wide x 13’2” Deep x 8’ high) with 2 SVS PB-200 pro subs. I installed the advance units underneath my 2 seat recliner. The addition of the buttkicker advance elevates movie watching to a whole new level. The bass is tactile and nuanced. I have the amp output set to 30 (max is 50) and it gives plenty of power to the 2 units with lots of headroom to spare. As many have stated its nice to be able to watch a movie at night with the subs turned off and still feel the bass without waking the whole family. I was also able to turn down the gain on the subs. I would recommend anyone who's on the fence to give these a try. These are a great addition.
I was fairly nervous whether I’d be able to correctly setup/use these things as I had 0 experience with even the concept. It ended up being so easy and making a tremendous difference. I have this installed onto a recliner, I literally just screwed it into the wood of the chair frame (vertically), and I put (separately bought ) rubber feet on each corner of the recliner to isolate it from the floor. Wiring wise, it’s just like any other subwoofer - I had a cheap 300w subwoofer amp from Amazon, and I almost never get the volume above 25-30%.
I had tried a smaller unit earlier, which was decent, but tended to overdrive/bottom out because it was too small (mass) for my chair. This is probably sufficient to shake a small couch and is more than enough for my recliner.
It adds to movies and is pretty enjoyable overall being able to feel gunshots and bangs and such…but games…this is where it’s a night/day difference. I am primarily using headphones and I miss the punch/slam from using a speakers and subwoofer. This was my solution, will never go back now.
I originally bought the Mini LFE but it didn’t deliver output below 20hz before bottoming out. The advance is a much more capable version.
This has been a great product. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or even needed since I have 3 subs, but once to dial it in (which honestly was much easier then I expected) it really does add to the home theater experience. I crossed it over at 80Hz on an 80w amp on a cheap but good amp and it's been great. I only really feel it when I should and not when I shouldn't. Cutting it off at 80 makes it so it only goes off during explosions and the like. I would recommend you give it a try if you are into home theater like me.
Thanks, Jerry. Your home theater looks amazing!
