LOVE IT!!!
Unfortunately I live in a two bedroom apartment. I do have a beautiful home theater in my living room 5.1.2. I can’t kick up my sub because of my neighbors so I decided to purchase the Buttkicker couch kit I was pleasantly surprised that I can actually feel the bass back again money was well spent.
The setup of the buttkicker of the wireless couch kit is super simple, the directions are simple to follow and quite detailed. I'm not using the wireless option for my setup due to limitations on the placement of the amplifier.
I was concerned that a single transducer may not be "enough" for my heavy reclining 3-person sofa, I was wrong! I have to turn the intensity setting way down to avoid dental damage, LOL.
Integration with my HT setup was pretty straightforward. I have a Denon AVRX3800H receiver with a dedicated transducer output with variable low-pass and volume control. However, connecting it to a different setup wouldn't be difficult as the "kit" comes with all the necessary cabling. I have an SVS SB4000 subwoofer that can create a LOT of SPL under 20hz, but using the buttkicker intensifies the tactile feel without having to annoy neighbors.
Lastly, the advanced transducer is surprisingly small, the WAF is high as she didn't immediately point at it and give me an evil eye.
Purchased the wireless kit after much research. Had concerns about it being "enough" for my heavy three seat reclining sofa, not an issue at all. The kit is VERY complete with everything you'll need to get up and running. Nancy and Mark are awesome to work with.
I think this is pretty good deal for everything included. I tried the Buttkicker in the corner of the couch first, using the included mounting plate. It definitely works. But it was too localized for me. After two weeks, I mounted it inside the couch, directly to the frame. This feels much better for me. But i like the option to not modify my couch.
Pros: It's quiet. I tried it maxed out and I didn't hear it bottom out. I was able to tune it down to 10Hz.
Cons: Only negative I have is that when I plug in the BK amp to a Y adapter for the sub output of my amp, I get a low level hum on my subs. It's barely audible when I'm using the amp but when I turn it off I can slightly hear it. Isolating it to it's own sub output helped but didn't alleviate the issue completely.
