NCTA Debuts cableINNOVATES Exhibit and High-Definition Theater at New Capitol Hill Headquarters

NCTA Board of Directors Tours New Exhibit and State-of-the-Art Theater

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) has unveiled a new exhibit at its Capitol Hill
headquarters to showcase the wide array of interactive video, high-speed Internet and digital voice products and services that cable operators
are now, or soon will be, providing to millions of consumers. Called cableINNOVATES, the hands-on display – set up to resemble the elements of a fully integrated “broadband home” – was officially declared open during a meeting today of NCTA’s Board of Directors at the association’s new headquarters building.

Mission: SPACE

On August 15, 2003, "Mission: SPACE" opened at Disney's Epcot -- after $100 Million and 5 years of development.  160 ButtKicker LFE low frequency audio transducers are installed - one per seat.

Dubuque, IA USA

The Journey Theater is an eighty-five seat theater that takes visitors on a Journey down the Mississippi River, from the headwaters at Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico. From the quiet of a river sunrise to the thunderous earthquake of 1811, the theater system accurately recreates the river experience with the help of high-definition video and digital audio. To further enhance the visitor experience, low-frequency vibration transducers –ButtKickers-- are fitted to the theater seats to ensure that appropriate sounds are felt as well as heard.  Opened Summer 2003.

Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum - Special Effects Theater 
Springfield, Illinois, USA


Images of Lincoln, both positive and negative, will be presented in the Union Theatre in a show called "Lincoln's Eyes."  Lincoln will be viewed by various people from the 1800s.  Some of the people will have good things to say about Lincoln; some won't.  This will demonstrate the love-hate relationship this nation has had with Lincoln both then and now.  Slated to open in 2004.

Center of Science & Industry (COSI) Dome Theater
Columbus, Ohio, USA


Since November of '99 ButtKicker low frequency audio transducers have been thrilling audiences in this 227 seat, state of art digital dome theater. In fact, during the opening weekend, when the audience experienced the ButtKicker for the first time - they cheered!

Additionally, the ButtKicker transducers have been one of the most reliable system components in the entire Dome Theater according to Mike Stanley, Dome Theater Manager.
